Toybox - let the street children live
The Big Dream

Street children have many dreams – of an education, a home, food and safety. In September 2010, the UK government will be meeting with the leaders of the richest countries in the world to review progress towards the Millennium Development Goals. The Goals are a set of eight commitments which could make the street children’s dreams come true. Toybox is asking the new government to make sure that the dream comes true.

Be Part of it!

There are three things you can do to help:

  • Join the call to action by filling in your details on the right
  • Send us a photo of you with your Big Dream to add to our photo wall - Use the Dream Template or make your own, and send to info(at)toybox.org
  • Write to your MP asking them to support the Early Day Motion calling for the UK government to show strong international leadership in making the Millennium Development Goals happen. Download an easy template.
  • Pass this link on to your friends and family

To go further, have a look at The Big Dream Toolkit – have a pillow fight, throw a pyjama party, write to your MP – there are loads of ways to raise awareness…

To access the toolkit, please fill in your details here:

We will send all your Dreams to the government this autumn, along with a copy of the children’s dreams.

The Children’s Dream Manifesto - Ballot Paper - Please sign below

The children that Toybox works with in Latin America have their own Dream Manifesto, based on their hopes for the future.

I am joining them in calling for a world where every child is...

  • protected from poverty, exploitation, forced labour, abuse, violence, drug taking, gangs and HIV/AIDS
  • able to have a full primary education
  • able to access healthcare services
  • able to play and enjoy their childhood in a natural environment that is protected for their future

I want the British government to make these dreams a reality by:

  1. recommitting to the Millennium Development Goals at the review summit in New York in September 2010
  2. ensuring that the UK spends 0.7% of GDP on overseas development by 2013
  3. keeping the dreams of street, working and vulnerable children at the forefront.
